Getting money back from your utility company is easier than you think!

Over the next couple of years, one of the first (and easiest) questions you should be asking your electrical engineer (that’s us!!!) is this:  What Xcel Energy lighting rebate is my project eligible for – and how much is it worth?

Xcel Energy is in the process of a major effort to reduce the energy demand in the state of Colorado; and what better way to do so than by offering building owners rebate money to be energy efficient.  It’s really a no-brainer – the owner comes away with an energy efficient lighting design (which will save him/her money annually); and, they get money up-front from Xcel just for making the effort (offsetting some of the initial costs of taking that extra step toward being “green”).

Rebate forms can be filled out by anyone on the design team (most easily by your electrical engineer or lighting designer); it’s simply a matter of filling in the types of light fixtures and lamps you are using on the job, mailing in the form, and sitting back to wait for your check to arrive.

Application forms include the following:

1.
Lighting rebate application – Retrofit
2.
Lighting rebate application – New construction
3.
Lighting rebate application – Express
4.
Lighting rebate application – Custom

Link to these forms, as well as an abundance of energy saving information provided by Xcel energy, by going to www.xcelenergy.com.
