WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?
Nyack, NY - 1/2 hour north of NYC.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE AND WHY?
“Shawshank Redemption”- Patience, persistence, and smarts beats injustice.
“Crash” – The best portrayal of class and racial stereotyping without being preachy and predictable.
WHAT’S SOMETHING PEOPLE WOULDN’T GUESS ABOUT YOU?
In spite of a 3” afro, I truly believed I was a leprechaun up until the age of 12.
WHAT BOOKS ARE ON YOUR NIGHTSTAND?
“THE HUMAN STAIN” by Phillip Roth.
WHAT’S THE BEST PLACE YOU HAVE EVER VISITED?
Spain. Many adventures and experiences that have stayed with me over the years.
WHO IS THE BEST BAND AND TO SEE LIVE?
Early Wynton Marsalis quintets or PRINCE at Madison Square Garden. It was his childhood dream to play there and he played every instrument over a straight 3 hours set! Rest in peace my brother! Sugarland at RED ROCKS was AWESOME, but now I’d have to go with Bruno Mars as the best band to see live now – instrumental chops and great voice, showmanship, and just an overall abundance of talent.
IF YOU HAD TO WATCH ONE SPORT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY?
Basketball: VA gotta play defense AND offense at a moment’s notice.
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE FAMOUS FOR?
Making a kick-butt jambalaya.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?
Play with and spoil my four dogs and four cats. I have also been a professional pianist for 25+ years. Jazz and R&B for most of those years, but now have settled in on doing the ‘piano bar thang’ (see lyrics to Billy Joel’s “Pianoman”)
