Regis Jesuit High School Performing Arts Center
Lighting the Stage for Innovation
The Regis Jesuit High School Performing Arts Center in Aurora, Colorado, is a vibrant, state-of-the-art facility designed to support the school’s growing arts program. Featuring a dramatic ceiling structure inspired by the work of James Turrell, the theater includes decorative elements visible from the exterior and a custom 3D mural wall that adds to the building’s artistic identity.
Efficient LED lighting was used throughout the space, including classrooms, lobby areas, the theater, and the exterior plaza, to reduce energy use and maintenance demands. The expansive lobby was illuminated with large-scale pendant fixtures to match the scale of the architecture. Theatrical house lighting was carefully coordinated to ensure compatibility between LED dimming systems and theatrical dimming panels.
Electrical design required integrating power systems across the existing boys’ and girls’ school buildings while addressing the specialized needs of theatrical consultants. Low-voltage systems were fully designed to support robust connectivity, including structured cabling, rack layouts, and cable management infrastructure.
The result is a flexible, inspiring environment that blends technology and artistry, empowering student performers and supporting the school’s creative vision.
