LEED Accredited Professionals at AE Design
AE Design now has 14 members with LEED - accreditation, and expertise. Our firm started the new year with three newly accredited LEED Green Associates on our team:
Andi Walter, Christina Kelch, and Mio Stanley have passed the LEED Green Associate exam.
At AE Design, sustainable design solutions and expertise are always top of mind and we apply strategies to reduce energy usage even when not seeking LEED certifications. On every project, we weigh the impact that our design will have on the natural environment to create the best systems that grow with the community and are sustainable for today, and for the future. Our team proactively participates in study groups, creates annual accreditation goals, and makes continued education a priority. AE Design also is an AIA Accredited provider and gives internal and external Lunch and Learn presentations on expertise and topics that range from sustainable electrical engineering and lighting design to historic preservation, and more.

ABOUT THE LEED GREEN ASSOCIATE CREDENTIAL
The LEED Green Associate credential is designed for professionals working in non-technical fields of practice who need to understand the basic framework of the LEED Rating System. This includes knowing the proper terminology and understanding the difference between concepts like LEED points, LEED credits, and LEED prerequisites. In short, the LEED Green Associate exam tests a candidate’s knowledge of high-level concepts and requires basic recall of definitions, mission statements, and naming of concepts that are part of the LEED Rating System. According to the U.S. Green Building Council, the size of the green building market doubles every three years worldwide, and buildings that are LEED-certified use 25% less energy, 11% less water, and emit 34% less carbon dioxide than other buildings.
