This Santa Fe Hotel & Spa shares the story of Eldorado with a modern twist. Located just steps away from the historic Santa Fe Plaza, the thrill of discovery is met with true reward — celebrating centuries of tradition and culture in a bold new expression of design and creativity.

Each project comes with its own unique challenges or expectations. To provide a successful lighting design to Eldorado Hotel & Spa, our team was responsible for adhering to the New Mexico Night Sky Protection Act. In 1999, NM enacted the Night Sky Protection Act [74-12-1 to 74-12-10 NMSA 1978]; its purpose is to regulate outdoor night lighting fixtures to preserve and enhance the state’s dark sky while promoting safety, conserving energy, and preserving the environment for astronomy. Our team developed environmentally-focused lighting solutions that preserve the land and night sky from excessive light while also supporting a boutique hotel experience. Working with the NM Health Department, which requires high illumination levels on the entire pool deck when used, special consideration for lighting positions, fixture selection, and control were employed to maintain the environmental goals.
